I Agee Totally With All You Have To Say.

Due To Illness I Am Unable To Attened The Demonstation Against The Service Cuts (namely school cuts ) I Was One Of The First To Attend Drumbrae Primary 47yrs Ago My Family(and their family) Also Attened They Also Went To Their Pre-School (nursery)This Was Also Held Within The School Grounds Prior To Attending Primary.
I Also Attened Clermiston Primary.
If They Switch Schools The Secondary School Choice Will Be Diffrent ie. (Clermiston to Royal High Graigmout Primary To Graigmount High (no not insame vicinity)) (crossing main roads) Changeing Schools Would Also Entail Crossing Main & Minor Roads
+ They Have Just Shelled Out For New Uniforms (i don’t think they will be reimbursed £80.+ per uniform x 4)

This is a disgusting move by the council. My child attends Westburn Primary School and is in p2, he is devastated that he may have to move to another school. The council advise that all children in Westburn primary are to be moved to Sighthill primary school. What right do the council have to tell me what school my child will be educated in? If i had wanted my son to go to Sighthill i would have put him there in the first place.
It really upsets me that they plan to spend £1.5 billion on a new state of the art sports complex on Sighthill Green, when they could spend half of that money renovating Meadowbank, but our children will still be forced out of the schools they know and love.
The priorities are all wrong. It is most likley the case that the people making these decisions probably can afford to privatley educate their kids, hence they will never feel the real impact of their decisions. To the council, we are simply numbers. They are happy enough to take our taxes though.
